DRT | DENK Racing Team Mulled Wine Party | Top Performance and having a whale of a time – Bavarian Gaudi

Neureichenau | District Freyung- Grafenau | Lower Bavaria – Now that my day´s work is done, I´m sitting here with a strong espresso ‘Indian Nilgiri’ from my Qbo machine and tell you about my last Sunday in Lower Bavarian Neureichenau. Now in my official function as press manager of “DENK Racing Team” let me tell you what happened at the mulled wine party (Glühweinparty) of ‘Zweiradparadies DENK’ and in the season before …

After I had received my official team T-shirt in a slightly postal, roundabout way two weeks ago – thank you again Fredl for this and also for your patience – and therefore am, to my great joy, an official member of the ‘DENK Racing Team’, my anticipation for the approaching mulled wine party in ‘Zweiradparadies DENK’ was huge. So on a gloriously sunny Sunday morning, after an overnight stay in Linz, I drove through Rohrbach to Aigen-Schlägl. There I met with my friend Manfred and his lovely girlfriend. After eating breakfast together, we drove along Hochficht to Neureichenau in Lower Bavaria near the border. Great route for drivers, with very little traffic – <gg>.

Following the sunny late morning with a temperature of minus 5°C the first clouds began to appear on our arrival at the ‘Zweiradparadies DENK’. By the evening the landscape became a snow covered winter wonderland with a roadway made of snow. We were greeted warmly by many generations of the Denk family. I already knew the race drivers and attendants of the team personally from our first meeting in September this year at the Pannonia Ring in Hungary where I first reported about the “DENK Racing Team” on my ARMIN ON BIKE Facebook Page as well as on Instagram.

Back then Kurt ‘Wogo’ Wogowitsch provided me the possibility to be on the team as a journalist. I was warmly received by the two Fredls (father and son Stingel) and all the other team members so that I immediately felt at home with the wild boys. It is likely that our passion for speed connects us in a way, even though I´ve been on the road as a ‘Furious reporter’ most of the time <gg>.

We met again at the end of October at the victory ceremony of the ‘Trofeo Moto Italia’ in the Zeillern castle near Amstetten, where Fredl Stingel (#fredl91), “Stngel Jun” by trade, racked up the overall win whereas Kurt ‘Wogo’ Wogowitsch (#wogo 72) was beaten by Peter Lietz ( Lietz Sport Racing) by one point and thereby had to surrender his place on the podium to him. These racing series for Italian motorcycles are carried out annually by motor racing operator BTR Performance under the direction of Kurt Theuretzbacher and with the support of Ducati Austria. I told you about this on my Facebook Page as well.

Other family members I haven´t been able to meet yet, have apparently heard of this and that by ARMIN ON BIKE- grin. In order to do justice to my reputation, I had to, at a somewhat latish hour, deploy my beloved selfie stick after a request and explanation made by Thomas. Some good pictures came out of this. Despite the fun we had, the usual business activity didn´t come to a halt. On the contrary, there was a lot of sales talk going on and people were talking shop. Of course, private matters and proper partying should not come short in such moments. A good year full of sweat, success and joy is about to come to an end and this was the place for exchange of experience and recall. The young generation of racers did enjoy the mulled wine party as well.

But the real big party in ‘Zweiradparadies DENK’, at the conclusion of this year, takes place December 29 as part of the ‘Superbike Party’, where ( a real highlight!) the new Ducati Panigale V4 is expected to be presented. On behalf of the ‘DENK Racing Team I want to invite you to come. For those of you who can´t make it to this long awaited event, I will report here and on my Social Media channels. See you!
